Week 1

Session 1:

In this class, we were put into random groups, assigned a simpsons character, and asked to look into approaches to the topic which would appeal to that character/audience. The group I was in got given Lisa - young and impressionable, but very intelligent and eco-conscious, so we figured the beach clean up would be an easy sell to her. This is the topic I was most interested in anyway. The main ways we came up with to entice someone like her, is to play into the 'animals are cute so we should save them' approach, and also playing into the fact that like most young girls, she would happily come along to a beach clean up if a teen heart throb justin bieber esque boy were promoting it.

Session 2:
We presented poster ideas we came up with in our pairs for the assignment. I did homer, which was alot different than Lisa so far as motivation and incentives went. Humor was the main vehicle to motivate him, and also doing it for his familys sake. It isn't so easy to convince a lazy person to come along to a beach event I found. :P
